Safaricom has made it easy to check and report frauders who are using people’s identity to register Sim cards without your consent. The frauders are using this Sim cards to commit crime, so you are advised to ensure your national identity card is safe from frauders. And if your identity is already used illegally to register Safaricom Sim cards that you are not aware ensure that you report so that the lines should be closed down. On the same your identity might be has reached maximum line registration due to frauders using to register lines you are not aware of,,you can also close down them down.
For a national identity card can be used to register up to five Safaricom Sim cards.
There are two ways to report and close the illegally registered Sim cards
- Visiting Safaricom shops.
You can visit the nearest Safaricom shop with your original national identity card, where by they would help you identify all numbers registered on your identity and they will also close the numbers that you are not aware of immediately.
2. Dial *106#
This is the new method and very easy for it has no expense, you just do it any time you wish, but you have to use your primary Safaricom Sim card where the primary Sim card is the oldest and most active sim card registered using your national identity card.
