Kiambaa parliamentary by-election has been a tight race between Wanjiku Njuguna from UDA party and Wainaina Kanja Kariri from Jubilee party. UDA aspirant Wanjiku Njuguna has finally won and he is the Kiambaa member of parliament elect. Wanjiku had a total of 21,773 voter while Kanja Kariri had a total 21,263 votes, only a difference of 510 votes. Though they were a total of eight aspirants the race was narrowed down to the two aspirants from UDA and Jubilee respectively.
Wanjiku Njuguna speaking after winning the elections he has promised to work together with the other aspirants to change Kiambaa constituency. He added thanking Kiambaa citizens for choosing him to be their leader despite the humiliation they passed through yesterday. On the other hand Wanjiku has said that hustler nation is real and he thanked UDA party for believing in him and giving him the opportunity to represent them. He finished by thanking all the members of parliament from Mt. Kenya region who supported him and the Deputy President for the support.
At the moment UDA party members from Kiambaa are out on the streets celebrating the victory of Wanjiku as the elected member of parliament of Kiambaa constituency. The Jubilee party aspirant Kanja Kariri brought chaos today morning, chaos that erupted the counting of votes for some time, IEBC shutting down the screens displaying results. This was due to him not believing in the process that was ongoing of counting votes.
On other by election results, Joseph Githinji has won Mugaga County assembly ward by elections. He had a total of 4,089 votes followed nearly by Thumbi Peter with 4,062.
