Apple to launch “Assistive touch” Apple watch feature controlled by subtle hand gesture

The latest Watch OS8 that is yet to be unveiled is optimistically bagged with some new cool features, ‘Assistive touch’. This will soon enable you to control your Apple smart watch using hand gestures and you will be able to navigate easily without touching it.

The technology behind this include; motion sensors like gyroscope and accelerometer, optical heart rate sensor and on-device machine learning.

By a pinch or a clench, you will be able to answer calls, control an on-screen motion pointer, access notification center and control center and more

As stated by apple, this is to make it easier for user with upper body limb differences to use the smart watch.

Apple is expected to unveil this feature in June this year during the WWDC alongside IOS 15, macOS 12, tvOS 15.
