The English Premier League has launched a hall of fame award. The award recognises and honours former players who had an excellent career on the pitch and contributed significantly to the League since its inception in 1992. The Hall of Fame award will be the highest and most honourable award given by the Premier League to it’s players.

To be eligible for induction in the Premier League Hall of Fame, players must have made 250 premier league appearances. For players with less appearances, they must have achieved any of the following milestones in their Premier League career
•Been selected to any of the Premier League Team of the Decade or 20-Year Anniversary teams
•Won a Premier League Golden Boot or Golden Glove
•Been voted as Premier League Player of the Season
•Won three Premier League titles
Scored 100 Premier League goals or recorded 100 Premier League clean sheets (GK only)

This year, the Premier League Hall of Fame will welcome eight inductees. Only players who retired by 1 August 2020 will be eligible for selection. Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry will be the inaugural Premier League Hall of Fame inductees. Six other Inductees will be selected from a 23-man shortlist through a fans vote and votes from the Premier League Awards panel. Fans can vote for their preferred player on www.premierleague.com/halloffame.
