In the last 24 hours Kenya has recorded 904 new Covid-19 cases from a sample of 5,673. Of which 885 were Kenyans and 19 were foreigners. Men who tested positive were 519 while females 385. It is so sad for a two month old infant tested positive being the youngest while and the oldest was 97years. The positivity remains at 15.9 percent and the cumulative tests add to 1,624,663.
Only 88 patients have recovered today out of which 76 are from various health facilities across the country and 12 from the home based and isolation care. This has adds the total recoveries to 105,367. On the other hand 20 deaths have been recorded adding up total deaths to 2,560. As per today 1,507 patients are admitted in various hospitals Country wide of which 226 patients are in ICU.
The vaccination of Kenyans is still ongoing especially to the special selected groups which are at higher risks of being infected with Covid-19. A total of 778,254 Kenyans have been vaccined. Below are the special categories of vaccinated people.:
- 58 years and above – 446,329
- Health workers – 148,358
- Teachers – 119,161
- Security officers – 64,406
Nairobi 288 cases, Mombasa 88 cases, Meru 54 cases, Nakuru 32 cases, Kakamega 31 cases, Busia 31 cases, Uasin Gishu 29 cases, Nyamira 29,Kericho 27 cases, Kisumu 23 cases, Nyandarua 23 cases, Muranga 22 cases, Kitui 17 cases, Tharaka nithi 16,Baringo,Kiambu, Kirinyanga and Nandi 14 cases each, Laikipia 13 cases, Vihiga 12 cases, Taita Taveta 11 cases, Machakos 10 cases, Kisii 10 cases, Marsabit, Bomet, Kilifi, Embu and Siaya had 9 cases each, Trans Nzoia 7 cases, Bungoma 5 cases, Kajiado 5 cases, Samburu 4 cases, Mandera 4 cases, West Pokot 4 cases, Kwale 3 cases, Homa bay 2 cases, Isiolo 2 cases, Nyeri 1 and Lamu 1.
